There are three core functions for any administrator; the processing of investor inflows and outflows from a fund, the valuation of the fund and the dissemination of information to the fund manager and investors. In addition, most fund administration mandates include the preparation of year end, audit ready financial statements.
Open-ended funds (generally hedge funds) tend to trade more frequently than a closed-end fund, therefore administration revolves around the reconciliation of the fund’s underlying positions and the portfolio accounting and valuation. For a closed-end fund, much of the administrative work revolves around the tracking of investor capital commitments and the calling of that capital and distributions of proceeds to investors. Closed-end funds still require portfolio accounting and valuation, however, the activity in the portfolio is generally much less active than an open-ended structure. Both types of funds require sophisticated accounting and investor systems and skilled personnel to properly administer.
We do not have a minimum fund size that we work with and currently administer funds that range from a few million dollars to over a billion dollars.

Our proprietary BluePrint system is used to consolidate information from our underlying systems to provide a single source of information for the fund managers and investors we work with.

Overall Operations FAQs
Middle Office:
STP’s Middle Office offering is built on its BluePrint platform, which serves as a single source of truth for all investment data — positions, transactions, and valuations. By automating data aggregation and reconciliation across custodians, fund administrators, and order management systems, STP dramatically reduces manual touchpoints and the potential for human error that can trigger compliance breaches or reporting discrepancies.
Daily automated reconciliations and exception workflows ensure that breaks are detected, categorized, and resolved in real time. This creates a consistent audit trail for all operational activity, strengthening oversight and supporting internal and external control frameworks such as SOC 1/2 and SEC Rule 206(4)-7.
Because BluePrint ingests and normalizes data across multiple sources, middle office teams can identify data inconsistencies or unusual activity before it impacts downstream reporting or regulatory filings. This level of transparency enables stronger compliance alignment, particularly for firms managing complex portfolios or outsourcing key operational functions.

STP’s Fund Administration model is designed to enforce internal control best practices. Through structured workflows, segregation of approval rights, and dual-review processes for NAV calculations, pricing, and investor allocations, STP reduces operational and compliance risk by minimizing single points of failure.

The result is faster, more reliable post-trade settlement processing and cleaner audit trails.
